I founded Surveying Damp Limited to provide independent, evidence-based damp and condensation surveys across Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and surrounding areas
My name is Steven Charalambides, and before establishing the company, I spent over 10 years working within the damp proofing and remedial treatment industry, carrying out damp, condensation and timber investigations across a wide range of residential properties throughout London and the South of England.
Over time, I recognised the importance of independent surveying within the industry. While remedial treatment can be appropriate in some situations, many damp-related problems require careful investigation and time before remedial works are undertaken.
My focus is on providing clear, practical and impartial advice that helps homeowners, buyers and landlords better understand the condition of a property and the likely causes of damp-related defects. This independence means clients can have confidence that any recommendations made are not driven by sales targets or commission-based remedial work.
Alongside practical industry experience, I also studied Building Surveying at university in Bristol, further developing my understanding of building pathology, construction and property defects. This combination of academic study and hands-on surveying experience supports a balanced and evidence-based approach to damp investigation and reporting.

I pride myself on being approachable and dependable, ensuring clients feel reassured and able to make informed decisions about their property and any potential next steps.
